NCHSAA Proposed Conference Realignments for 2009

According to Tim Stevens' column in the N&O today, the AD at Rose wants this change and the opportunity to play the Raleigh area schools.

8 State Champs?????

In reading the Charlotte Disturber this weekend I noticed that there are 8 separate "divisions" being awarded State Football Championships. HUH???? EIGHT divisions? Surely there isn't that much difference between 4A and 3AA etc, etc, etc......

This is a joke in and of itself!!!! What happened to Big, Medium and Small.

OH, I almost forgot! I may have left out Charlotte Latin School. They ran the table and have a 6'6" QB who I'm told is the best in the state.

Make that 9 State Championships! I'm sure there are more. NC High Schools (all by themselves) make the NCAA look smart (and that's tough to do).

I think this is good for them as well since I have rarely seen them challenged in the past 10 years. Sounds like their coaches think they are ready for it. Good for them.

 

Make that 11. The private school org. crowns 3 state champs.

I think it would be great for Rose to play Raleigh schools. Heck, you turn right out of Greenville and Raleigh is just down the street.

 

You're right. They should consolidate it down to 4 in public school. 4a,3a,2a, 1a.

Both Hansen and Charest are good QB's in the Charlotte area as is A J Blue at North Gaston. Hansen and Charest are unc bound and Illinois respectively (i could have them flip-flopped). Not positive about Charest. Last I checked he listed them as his fav. Blue also to unc as an athlete. NCSU went out of state and bagged Mike Glennon from Va.

98 miles Greenville Rose to Harnett Central. Both are proposed to join the Greater Neuse 4A conference.
