NCHSAA Proposed Conference Realignments for 2009

Take a look. In the SW4A South Meck,Myers Park and Weddington out and Porter Ridge and Sun Valley in. Sure will take away some old old rivalries with Providence. Weddington moves to 3A

Wow...nothing else I can say. I can see moving SM because their enrollment has dropped significantly, but not Myers Park

 

Not really knowing where most are located. Lo ks like 9 and 10 were drawn on geographical (big word) lines. Sorry Regan (3A) and Reynolds (not sure) you get to battle the big 4A guys.

 

Dont always take the first release as the final word. In the past schools have been able to have their say before the final decisions are made.

 

According to website schools can appeal and final realignment will be in March

JH Rose in a Raleigh conference??? Be interesting to see if that holds up.

 

They've had it too easy too long!

 

Dawgs, I know you're half serious, but how 'bout this....Rose's conference, the Coastal 8, is a split 4A/3A. Rose and New Bern being the only 4As. That means that under the new playoff format, both could go winless and still make the playoffs.

 

The NCHSAA has a tough time especially areas where there arent many schools that fit into 1 particular classification. Such is the case here. They are faced with keeping teh integrity ofconference play and keeping classes of schools together. With the energy situation and teh economy, there may be avenues for change and schools do get the opportunity to voice their views.
