Game Cancelations

How big of a problem is this becoming statewide? I know we have had 3 varsity and 5 jv games canceled on us this year. The last one really stinks since Enka called today and canceled our last home game,jv/varsity doubleheader, scheduled for Monday which was supposed to be senior night. We were able to get games earlier in the season by driving to Charlotte to play Country Day and ACA in Asheville agreed to play, after Hendersonville HS and Carolina HS canceled, but this last one is impossible. How much of a problem has this become? Is it time for signed contracts between schools for games that have been committed to, as we do in football, with penalties attached? A 7-0 forfeit victory just isn't the same.

 

We didn't have any games get cancelled so I guess we were lucky. However cancelling on a team on their Sr. night is very inconsiderate of others. I would ask, "Is that how we would want to be treated?" Even if you have kids that are hurt, play your JV's.

 

They are well enough to be playing in their conference tournament.

I saw where Monday's game was cancelled. I hated that for your seniors, as you have some special ones who deserved the opportunity for their final home game to be extremely meaningful.

If we didn't already have a game scheduled for Monday, shoot, I would get our coach to drive over there and play you guys again. Hopefully your coach can get something worked out for senior night.

Thanks, it was gonna be a very special night with Pruitt recovering from cancer and finally finishing Chemo. Some programs are simply bush. It was a very selfish decision. Wonder if they will record the loss.
