    NW4A Fastpitch Scores

Alexander Central 17 North Wilkes 0 after 5 innings.

Sophmore pitcher Megan Laxton had an impressive starting Varsity debut hurling 5 complete innings on no hits with only 2 reaching base on 2 fielding errors. Junior Catcher Jordan Poarch went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 doubles batting in multiple RBI's. A very impressive first outing for Coach Bolick and the Varsity squad.

Sounds like Freedom and AC are gonna have a good year, congrats to both teams . It should be a good game when these two meet. I have been hearing some things about E. Burke did the senoir pitcher and a couple of other players quit? But then again could be rumors.

We just played them a couple of times (St. Stephens) and one of the parents of East Burke told me 2 senoirs quit one of them a pitcher.

Sophmore third baseman Ashley Jones knocked in Senior centerfielder Patty Klaver for the winning run in the bottom of the eight. The Lady Titans played tough and hit the ball very well. Great job to both teams and what a way to start the conference season.

Reilly allowed 2 hits while striking out 9. Freshman Kincaid hit a solo shot in the 5th to take the lead. Watauga moves to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

For Alexander Central to have a dominant pitching performance and it still be a one-run game in extra innings that's a good sign for McDowell.
