Go Heels! It was great seeing these guys play! And the Freshman--what talent they were showing! I look forward to seeing great baseball this year. It should be an interesting year at UNC.

Robert Woodard was named the ACC pitcher of the week and UNC moved up to #1 in Baseball America's collegiate poll. Woodard's win put him in a tie with Scott Bankhead for career best winning % at .889. Pretty heady stuff for a 46th round draft pick.

The Charlotte boys are having a good time:

Woodard, Fronk lead No. 1 UNC

    Observer News Services
CHAPEL HILL - College baseball Reid Fronk, a former Charlotte Christian star, capped his first career four-hit game with a two-run home run, and right-hander Robert Woodard, who starred at Myers Park, allowed one run in six innings as No. 1 North Carolina (5-0) beat Stony Brook 9-1.

Woodard (2-0) became the fifth pitcher in school history to reach 25 wins in his career. He struck out three and allowed three hits. Woodard, 25-3 in his career for a UNC record .893 winning percentage, has won 20 of his last 21 decisions.
