    Freedom @ Watauga

    Freedom 7
    Watauga 14

Pioneers move to 7-0 with their first win over the Patriots since 1984. Breitenstein tallies close to 300 yards on the ground and two rushing scores (up to 21 total touchdowns on the year). Freedom led 7-0 at intermission but couldn't move the ball at all in the second half. Breitenstein wore the defense down with punishing run after punishing run in the second half, resulting in Watauga's 8th straight win dating back to last year when the Pioneers beat Alexander in the season finale.

    what a ridiculous game.

Ragsdale played awesome in the first half scoring late in the 2nd quarter on a 73 yard TD run by Tyler Rankin to cut the ER lead to 10-7 at halftime.

Defense held ERs first possesion in the 3rd quarter but that was the only highlight of the half for Ragsdale.

ER scored on their second possession to go up 17-7 which was the score going into the 4th quarter.

90 seconds later ER is leading 38-7, scoring 3 TDs thanks to two Ragsdale fumbles.

Ragsdale had negative yards and no first downs in the second half.

Bizarre play calling by Coach Norwood. Ragsdale had three third and longs in the second half and they ran it up the middle for no gain EVERY TIME.

Ragsdale used all three of their time outs in the 2nd half before ER ran their first play on three different possesions.

The team just fell apart in the 2nd half.

    2-4 on the season now.

    showdown in tville over

well final score in the NW4A showdown of undefeated teams was:

    AC Reynolds- 28
    Alexander Central- 10

The game was actually closer than that.. it was turnovers and mistakes that killed alexander. Alexander played toe to toe with them except for those 2 or 3 key mistakes that led to scores.. the D for Alex. played exceptionally well in my opinion. I do know that reynolds avg for 12 yrds rushing allowed on defense per game will definitely go up lol.. but not too bad of a game. a better one than the score tells but reynolds is by far beyond anyone in the conference this year.

Guys...just got home and I frankly don't know what to say. If you a Burns or even a McDowell fan and attened tonight's game, well you found out single hand what has happened to the McDowell Titans over the last three games. We play our butts off for 3 quarters and 8 minutes. And then when we finally make our first mistake of the game, this time and bad handoff from center to QB, we lose the ball and lose the game. This one may really be a big blow to the Titans mentally.

I don't think too many folks around this state know about Terrence Kincaid. Well, I think the folks at Burns will agree with me that "Buggy" is one of the best backs in this part of North Carolina. Usually, when McDowell plays Burns, Burns has all the athletes and all the speed. Well tonight, just by watching the play on the field, I think I can say for the first time that a McDowell player might have been the most athletic player on the field. I'll give Lance Camp credit for being the most talented because he is a senior and is one heck of a player, but Terrence Kincaid is an equal if not a better player than guys like Lance Camp. McDowell has never had a single player in their history that could outrun the entire defense of a team the calibur of Burns, Buggy did it twice tonight. All that said, it was one fumble at the worst absolute time that cost McDowell a HUGE win.

North DOMINATES in everything but the score. Game really wasn't as close a score indicated. North shot themselves in the foot ALL NIGHT.
