Showcase tryouts, Wilmington, NC

The Stronger Woman Organization is proud to announce the continuation of The Stronger Woman Showcase Team for 2011/2012. TSW Showcase enters it's 2nd year looking to build on an inaugural year of success and achievement. With the successful placement of six seniors into the college ranks, Coach Drake is ready to reload to help players reach their full potential and see their game elevate above and beyond. During our 2011 summer season the TSW girl’s basketball team participated in some of the BEST Showcase tournaments around; Fairfax Stars “TOC Pink” in VA, the Deep South Classic (one of the largest recruiting events on the East Coast) Raleigh, NC, the Atlanta Dream Challenge (players got to attend a WNBA game and spend time with top WNBA players from the ATL Dream). Some of the events that our 2011/2012 team will be looking to attend are the Nike Nationals, FILA Nationals, Deep South Classic, Fairfax Stars “TOC Pink”, and many more. We will be attending tournaments that will allow our players to gain the exposure they need to get to the next level (DI, II, III, NAIA or Junior College). We believe in having a vision, making a full commitment to what you love to do and working hard every day you step on the court while wearing a Stronger Woman jersey. We are excited about this season and look forward to meeting you all at the TSW Try Outs in October!

ABOUT COACH DRAKE​

Lori Drake is the current and inaugural Women’s Head Basketball Coach at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. Coach Drake possesses an extensive background of not only playing at the collegiate and professional level, but also coaching, teaching and training top players and teams. Lori recently served as a floor coach at the 2011 Hampton Girl's Basketball Nike Skills Academy, where she had an opportunity to work with some of the top trainers, coaches and legends of the game such as; Ganon Baker, Dee Brown, Nadine Domond, Diane Richardson, Micah Lancaster and Erica White. Coach Drake spent this past year as the Basketball Divisions Director, and Lead Skills Development Coach, for The Stronger Woman Organization. Among her many accomplishments in this role, Lori founded The Stronger Woman Showcase Team in Wilmington, NC. Upon completion of their initial summer season, all six seniors on the team roster were successfully placed to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level for the fall of 2011.
Following her career at UNCW, Lori played professionally for two years in the United Kingdom. Coach Drake helped lead the Solent Suns to the Final Four in the 2008-2009 season, averaging 19 ppg and 8.5 rpg. That same season, Lori was selected to play on the All-Star team for "The Rest of the World" vs "England". Lori has had the opportunity to play in Luxembourg, Germany, Wales and the United Kingdom throughout her professionally career. During her time overseas, Drake was also the Head Women's Basketball Coach at the University of Chichester in the UK, where she lead the team to their first cup game win in school history.
Drake is a graduate of UNCW where she was named to the All-CAA team as the leading scorer, rebounder and team captain for the Seahawks. Coach Drake’s college career started at Seward County Community College, where she helped lead the Saints to a 32-5 season and final national ranking of #8.
