The Blue Devils scored on their first possession and seemed poised to blow out the Vikings. But N. Meck stiffened things up and played hard despite being out-manned. Mooresville faces Lake Norman to finish off the regular season next Friday night.

Cougars come back from 14-0 in 1st quarter. QB Kyle Kinnaird ran for a score and threw for another and the AC defense righted the ship after a rocky start. Cougars go to 8-2 and have a shot at the NWC Championship next week at Hibriten. The win also locks up a 1st round home playoff game. Kudos to South Caldwell, they played well but in the end the Cougars outplayed them in the 2nd half. South Caldwell just can't throw the ball and it's hard to beat the Cougars without at least some balance.

 

Kinnaird played outstanding. He wasn't going to let us lose tonight. I don't give much credit to the coaches, hardly ever. But Harper made great half time adjustments tonight. Brought more guys into the box and started mixing in the pass more. With that said, we're not going to beat Hibriten on the ground. It's going to have to be through the air.
