    Francis Marion plays for championship

    I just saw that the Patriots Dan Sandifer, who was the defending Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year and preseason All-America, picked up his first win in almost 13 months as Francis Marion defeated Tusculum 9-3, after losing to Tusculum previously 7-2. Now all teams have one defeat in the double elimination regional.

    At 1:00 today Tusculum faces Catawba, whom they beat earlier in the regional 4-3 on opening day. At 5:00 the winner faces Francis Marion for the regional championship.

    Francis Marion was preseason #1 in my many polls and got out of the gate slowly.

    Catawba vs. Francis Marion for the Southeast Title

    Catawba eliminated Tusculum 6-1. Now face Francis Marion for the trip to Cary.

    Catawba vs Framcis Marion for Regional Championship

    Led by pitcher John Tuttle CG, two hitter, and catcher Greg Lawson's first inning 3 run double, Catawba eliminated Tusculum and now faced Francis Marion at 5:00 for the Regional Championship. Winner heads to Cary for the D2 National Championship round.

    Congratulations to the Catawba Indians

    #21 Catawba defeated #6 Francis Marion 8-4 to claim the Southeast Regional Championship. Good luck to the boys from Catawba as they travel to the Cary, NC, and try to bring the D2 National Championship back to NC. Good job!
