    what are some of the "must see" teams in the mecklenburg county area?

    i usually try and attend a few of the state championship matches in the area ...

    teams to watch

    Lake Norman and Hopewell, both from the I-Meck have strong teams and could make deep runs in the play-offs.

    kings mtn also has a very strong team this year, i believe they were undefeated in the big south conference and should by all means, go deep in the playoffs. worth watching, heck of a front line.

    was on NCHSAA site and found this calendar -

    NCHSAA Playoff Calendar

    1st Round - Saturday, October 23, 2010
    2nd Round - Tuesday, October 26, 2010
    District Round - Thursday, October 28, 2010
    Sectional Round - Saturday, October 30, 2010
    Regional Round - Tuesday, November 2, 2010
    State Championship - November 6, 2010 at Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh NC
    Time: 4A - 12 Noon 1A - 2:30pm
    2A - 5pm 3A - 7:30pm

    had a look at the 4A brackets ... looks like the east has some strong teams (JH Rose, Scotland, Apex all undefeated and Wakefield with one loss). 4A west does not have any undefeated teams ... but some familiar names (Providence, Mt. Tabor) with good records. and from the I-Meck Lake Norman and Hopewell must be good teams.

    good luck to all ... hope to see some good matches over the next couple weeks.

    did not make any matches ... but checked NCHSAA site for scores in 4A west.

    district round on oct 28.

    ardrey kell - mt tabor
    providence - reagan
    ac reynolds - lake norman
    watauga - hough (was this a surprise? hough I Meck #3 defeated I Meck #2 hopewell)

    Congratulations to North Iredell and Lake Norman on advancing to regional finals. Good to see two Iredell County teams advance this far. Good luck to both.

    Lake Norman / Providence

    Lake Norman will play host to Providence on Tuesday nite at 6pm to decide the West Region Champion and a place in the state finals. Lake Norman fininshed off Watagua 3 games to 1 on Saturday. Both team were 9-0 in the state tournament going in to the match. Tues match should be a very good match as both LKN and Providence are strong teams. Dont see this match only going 3 games and could go the entire 5 games. Good luck to all teams remaining and GO WILDCATS !!!!!!!!!

    Providence knocks off Lake Norman

    Providence brought their "A" game to LKN and knocked off LKN in 3 straight games. LKN started very slow, going down 13-2 in the first game before making a run, but eventually loosing 25-18. The 2nd game turned out to be the type of games everyone waS EXPECTING with LKN loosing 27-25 after leading most of the game. That loss seemed to take the wind out of LKN's sails and Providence went on to an easy 3rd game win. This was the deepest run in volleyball ever for LKN in school history. Providence's front line controlled most of the game. Congrats to LKN on a fine season and best of luck in the state finals to the Providence Panthers. Bring the gold home to the west !
